Heidi Kirkpatrick (b. 1959, Springfield, Ohio; resides in Portland, OR) is a fine art photographer and educator. Throughout Kirkpatrick’s career her work has explored the female figure, family narratives and contemporary issues of being a woman. Applying film positives onto objects such as vintage children’s blocks, books, mahjong tiles, ashtrays, and tins, she creates unique photo objects that take on a new life through her practice.
Kirkpatrick’s work is held in numerous private and public collections including The Portland Art Museum, Portland, Oregon, The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, Texas; The Harry Ransom Center, Austin, Texas; The Ogden Museum of Southern Art, New Orleans, Louisiana; and The Fox Talbot Museum. Kirkpatrick is represented by G. Gibson Gallery, Seattle, Washington and the Dina Mitrani Gallery, Miami, Florida.
